Stillness and Zen-sation, the feeling of total harmony between you and everything around you, allowing and flowing,
gentle and soft, yet very present and passionately alive.

Zen Warrior

Warrior. It is much more than a fighter.
A warrior is a human that dares to stand for something the others do not dare to stand up for. The warrior is the one that has experienced life from many angles and has learned to stop and listen. He has learned to bow his head for something greater than himself, and he has learned that the true master dwells inside of him.

She has understood that wisdom does not emerge from knowledge and schools. She has found that there is wisdom of ageless quality stored inside of her, although it is of a different quality than she has learned and obeyed to.

(picture Caine –Kung Fu movie)
There is a power beyond human comprehension that waits until it decides to move. A warrior has fought outer and inner battles to come to senses and stillness. Daring to dive into this stillness, without really knowing where it leads to, however with the firm trust that there is another layer of life, something that can only very softly be felt.
In a world where balance and harmony is not supported, the warrior has learned to survive. Hard times and hurts, yet he still stands. She has never given up, and now it is time for an evolution. There is something behind the stillness, and it is powerful and all-knowing.
The warrior has learned to listen to it, and is ready.

Silence

Currently residing in a Zen type guesthouse in Auroville, in the South of India. It is a bliss to be here. The noise of Western activity is missing, the mental noise that one 'hears' when in the Western world is almost not existing. Indian people have another education and are not bathed in mental and economic thinking, and one can feel that.

Nature is powerful here too, the natural stillness added on top of the Zenlike surrounding, is a bliss for the spirit, the body, the emotions and mind. It is all coming to a moment of true breathing and clarity emerges from a stillness point that is inside of me.

Here something happens with you, as I am invited to have much more fruit on my daily plate, the tropical weather invites you into slowing down, and taking time to just watch, observe, enjoy, integrate what you see. There are many colorful flowers, the people here are friendly. At first they are a bit withdrawn, watching how you are behaving towards them. But once they feel you are okay and respectful, they are truly nice and helpful wherever they can.

The stillness that the place is bringing enables a shift into yourself and activates on a more in-depth manner the stillness within you. It is easy to leave problems behind here, and to be here/now. It is a pleasure to be here/now. The deeper levels of living are better listened to, the intuition awakens, and it is possible to have a sense of bliss at some times.
Another shift is felt in the relationships and connections. As there is a shift from noise to stillness, one tends to choose to be more solitary or to seek out people that are inwardly silent. Sometimes, as it has now happened with me, I have chosen to leave some 'friends' behind, and to enter a new era of quality interactions, instead of noisily quantity interactions. There is something with noisy social interaction that is more disturbing the inner senses than that is brings about true harmony. Here in Auroville one can connect with quality people. It is a bliss to choose again for quality and leave behind what has proven itself to be of poor interactive and mainly quite immature social interaction.
The more I am here, the more I see how disharmony rules many parts of the world. Social networks shouting over the internet, without true content, talking about friendships that are not worthy of carrying that title. No, it is good to withdraw for a while and then choose again for another type of connection. In this space clarity of beingness offers the vision of better choices. It is my hope that places like this will be spread amongst the whole human world, for the betterment of life. It is like the Dalai Lama once said 'to have a better world we need more ... monks'. In my terms, we need more authenticity, respectful stillness and balance.

Connections and detachment

Our world is one of connections. Through connections we are bound - consciously and unconsciously – to a wide variety of things, places and people. All these connections influence our beingness, all of them. Some make us feel good, other bad, others influence us without knowing.

The setting of the houses has an influence, what you eat and drink, with whom you interact of live with. The house you step into has an influence, the company you work in, the chair you sit on, the surrounding you are in, the book that you read, the stars that you see.
Everything and everyone, that lives in your world, has an influence on you. Most people are intuitively aware of this, however they are unaware that the connections have much more influence than they think. They think usually they are separate from all that. That is not the case.
Beyond the things that we are attached to, the most influential strings are the ones that come from our personal attachment to people. The way you are attached to others, is so influential that you might immediately feel very different when just thinking about that other person. It is important to note that – without knowledge around this – a person is very much influenced at all times.

Once one understands the impact of all outer influences, one can take the attitude of neutral detachment. It is in this neutral detachment of all things, that one becomes a person of stillness from within.
The storms of the world are still there, however the effects are minimized as much as possible, and trouble water becomes clear water.
When a person gets emotional, you will not be pulled into the same emotion and stay clear from the effects, however still compassionate about people. It is in this compassion that one finds that he is always connected to others, he becomes the other and then he becomes all.

Zen Guest House in Auroville

June 2010

As we arrived a few days ago in the Auroville premises, in the South of India, we were lead to the guest house that we booked online. This Guest House Afsanah, is a mirror of a Japanese Zen House.

The garden is simply exquisite, the stones are kind and the plants are the beautifying queens. The little frogs, dragonflies, salamanders, gekkos, little squirrels add to the powerful natural mixture of absolute finesse.

The main building is a representation of balanced and harmonious spirit, and every view from the restaurant area shows the watergarden, the stone settings, and the greenery of the trees. The sounds of exotic birds fills the room.

Breakfast is a representation of true natural abundance, with orange fruit, natural fruit juice, some bread, bananas, some wheat meal, tea and coffee. The taste is adorable and in all the zen spirit simplicity life has truly amazing.

Both Joanna and I know that we are divine in origin, as if every human, however we have chosen to allow spirit to arrange everything for us. We were lead to come to Auroville, by the smell incense, by sensing that it was the place to go to. We would receive more information on why when we would be there.

The whole trip from Europe to India was a smooth journey, and the end-result of arriving here was just confirming how creative the cosmic forces are.

We feel blessed to be part of a creative journey, and know we have created this zen guest house. Such is the divine nature of an awakened human. The force works through the mantel of the personality, and flows into what is being perceived into the human world.

Both Joanna and I are part of the manifestation, and we are actively creating a vibration of beauty, natural power, balance and harmony. What we are inside is reflected in what is presented in the 5 senses through the brain.

This is the true reason for being on earth : recognizing that the personality serves the cosmic force, and then enjoying the human manifestation in the form of paradise on earth. Blessed be the human that chooses not to be busy with lower emotions and drama, and that allows in all gentleness of spirit and being to become part of the creation of worlds here on earth.

We are driven by a divine force that just needs to have some space to create whatever the individual, like a child of the divine parent, desires to create and joyfully play with.
